Wanda (Denise) McCloud is a devoted Christian who serves as the Hospitality Leader in her church, living by the scripture from Matthew 20:28: "Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve." A proud wife and mother, Denise is a native of Cincinnati Ohio, and began her journey in Early Childhood Education in 1997. She completed Associated ECE Liberal Arts in 1992 and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice in 2005 from the University of Cincinnati. With over 23 years of experience, she has successfully owned and operated a Childcare Learning Facility, impacting countless young lives. Her commitment to service and education continues to inspire and support the community.
In addition to her extensive experience in (ECE) Early Childhood Education, Denise embarked on a journey in Organizational Leadership Excellence in 2017. She completed her MBA in 2023 from the University of Phoenix and is currently a candidate for a Master Career & Technology Teacher Certification University of Toledo certified through the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) along with a Child Development Accreditation (CDA). As the Director of Career Works, a public charity organization, Denise thrives on inspiring and driving the execution of engaging programs. Her efforts consistently align with and enhance our community partners' mission, vision, and goals.
With a background in early childhood education, mental health intervention, juvenile rehabilitation, and career-based intervention, she understands the unique challenges that today's youth face. Driven by the belief that every young person deserves the opportunity to thrive and succeed. She is committed to providing the necessary support and resources to help others achieve their full potential.
As a Career Coordinator and ECE Administrator, she has designed and executed comprehensive programs aimed at enhancing academic achievement, promoting mental health, and fostering leadership skills. By forging strategic partnerships with local schools and community organizations, she successfully expanded the Career Works program reach, ensuring maximum impact for students.
One of her proudest accomplishments includes the development of a mentorship program and career modules tailored for at-risk students. These modules introduce students to alternative career paths such as cosmetology, barbering, information technology, electrician, engineering, construction, nursing, healthcare, culinary arts, and entrepreneurship. The result? Significant improvements in self-esteem, academic performance, graduation rates, and community work placements.
